As a Partner at Ashe Broussard Weinzettle Architects, Mike’s leadership is focused on extending the firm’s vision, profile, and processes. Good design doesn’t end with the concept drawing in a sketchbook. Mike takes an active role in production to ensure that each project comprises thoughtful integration of building components and systems. This approach leads to the creation of enduring and authentic environments that embody each of our client’s visions.

Mike has been instrumental in realizing some of our most significant projects based on a core design belief that inspiration comes from observation, which leads to the creation of places that heighten everyday experiences. He fosters open communication with our clients and collaborators, which generates well-crafted and inspirational architecture.

Mike’s notable projects include the CLTCC’s Downtown Academic Campus in Alexandria, the Living / Learning Commons at the Louisiana School for Math, Science, and the Arts in Natchitoches, the Lambright Sports and Wellness Center & multiple Residence Halls at Louisiana Tech (his alma mater), and the St. Landry Parish Visitor Center.

After graduating from Louisiana Tech University and starting his architectural career in Memphis, TN, Mike returned home to Central Louisiana, where he was born and raised. Mike enjoys spending time with his wife, Kate, and their two daughters, Zoe and Ella. Three pets, including one incorrigible Corgi, complete the family.

Beyond keeping up with the antics of his far more talented daughters, Mike enjoys the occasional gallivant with old friends – with past travels taking them as far as Tokyo (but usually more modest distances), great menus, and a bourbon to sip on. He usually has his nose in one too many books, non-fiction and fiction, and is a confessed sports nerd and long-suffering Saints fan.
