Located on a 20 acre hilltop site, the Woodlands Healthcare, LLC will be an all private 134 bed skilled nursing facility designed and constructed to replace an existing facility of the same name, also located in Leesville, Louisiana. Ashe Broussard Weinzettle Architects was tasked with designing the new facility based upon a de-centralized care model, creating nursing work areas and social activity space at the core of each residential hall in order to increase efficiency in the delivery of healthcare and social services.

Focused on providing a hospitality atmosphere, the re-invented Woodlands Healthcare moves beyond the institutional design of its predecessor. Featured amenities include a movie theater, large physical therapy gym, spacious living room and television viewing areas, snack and coffee bar areas at each residential wind, and outdoor recreational patios. In addition, the central core of the facility includes a central dining room, beauty and barber shop, family dining room, and a specialized activity space to accommodate arts and crafts programs.
