Physicians Medical Center added the Urgent Care Center to their medical campus in Houma to meet the growing healthcare needs of the coastal Louisiana region. The Urgent Care Center provides an alternative to the typical hospital emergency room experience, by providing fast and accessible emergency services including triage, x-ray, cast room, lab, six exam rooms, a treatment room for minor procedures, hyperbaric/wound care room, and pharmacy. Patients that require additional treatment are admitted to the hospital.

The building creates an identifiable presence with a light-filled lobby that opens up to the active commercial corridor, providing a comfortable and calming interior for patients and their families. The original pharmacy’s success has resulted in an expansion to a new free-standing building on site that is currently under construction.
