The Student Success Center will address the basic need for additional space for varied departments, but it will also serve a larger purpose as a gateway to the campus for incoming students and will advance a progressive image for LSUA.
The Student Success Center will house Admissions, Financial Aid, First Year Experience, and Advising all within a spacious, light filled interior that connects the people inside with the world outside. These student-centered departments will be supported by several multi-purpose spaces such as meeting rooms, a large conference room, and a computer lab. Moreover, the SSC will contain a Career Development Center to demonstrate LSUA’s commitment to student success in life beyond academia, in the workplace.
The Student Success Center seeks to provide a welcoming, supportive, and convenient location for prospective, new, and current students. It aims to address a wide range of student needs to insure they achieve success throughout their time at LSUA and beyond, when they become an integral part of the Central Louisiana work force and community.
The building forms, details, and materials reference earlier campus buildings while creating its own identity with a unique design which still feels at home at LSUA. The project also includes a landscaping plaza that will serve as a connection between the new building and the campus, designed by landscape architect, Tony Tradewell.
